Helix in Latin America
Historically London has seen a steady flow of reinsurance business to/from Latin America. Issues of geography and language have contributed to frequent breakdowns in communication and, together with broker consolidation both in London and Latin America, have led to regular disputes. The lack of opportunity for face-to-face negotiation has made problem solving a lengthy and time consuming process. Such an environment has proved an area in which Helix has been able to use its expertise to add value.
Helix has operated in Latin America since 1997 in various locations including Argentina,Venezuela, Peru and Mexico, representing both local cedants, captives and overseas clients seeking resolution of outstanding issues.
With an excellent understanding of insurance and reinsurance issues throughout Latin and South America and access to additional local resource, should the project require it, Helix are well placed to deliver services in this part of the world. Local knowledge and language skills are vital if our clients are to receive a first class service and Helix has them in abundance.
To successfully collect Latin American ceded debts from the London insurance and reinsurance market it is essential to have access to and use of the unique systems and processes that exist (eg CLASS, LORS, LOC's). Helix has full capability in this area.
