Compliance Training and Consultancy

On the 14 January 2005 the Financial Services Authority took over the regulation of the general insurance market.

Helix have developed a number of specific FSA and compliance training courses.  Please see the  FSA and Regulatory Compliance course section of the All Courses page and Course Calendar page for details of the FSA and Regulatory Compliance courses we run.

A section of the FSA rules requires regulated companies to ensure that their staff are competent and knowledgeable in their general insurance related activity.

The rules also deal with recruitment, assessment and staff development.

As well as being in a position to offer specific FSA and compliance related training services to FSA members Helix UK Limited can also:

  • train management to be able to effectively recruit and select
  • train management to recognise what levels of knowledge and competence are required of their staff, in relation to the FSA rules and how to maintain it

  • train management to be able to effectively manage the training of their subordinates and adequately evaluate the effectiveness of any training undertaken

  • train management to carry out effective annual assessments

  • assist managers in the preparation and maintenance of job descriptions and competency frameworks

  • provide general insurance technical training as well as personal development and IT training

  • provide staff with an adequate knowledge of the requirements of the FSA rules and the legal aspects of insurance.
